Where: 198 Ossington Road, Toronto, Canada.
What: Textiles shop.
Orientation: East-facing.

This old-school storefront found in the quickly gentrifying strip on Ossington between Queen and Dundas streets here in Toronto, features some typical window garden fare including peace lily (Spathiphyllum sp.), jade (Crassula ovata), and dumb-cane (Dieffenbachia) sat on a ledge just inside a very large, east-facing window.

However, we were surprised and in awe of a massive, draping epiphytic fern that hangs down between the second and first floors. The owner, who came out and spoke to us for a minute, calls it “monkey tail fern”, a reference to the soft, fuzzy look of the new fronds. According to her the plant is endemic to Brazil but I’ve been unable to find any references to it online that might identify its botanical name.
